My President

Yes, I realize that some may tire of the "1st Black President-Elect" thing but it's not often that a man, whom I didn't vote for, gives me chills as I understand what this country has been through. I WISH that it wouldn't be a big deal. I honestly wished that he could just be a man who beat John McCain to become the 44th President of the United States. Actually I wish he would've been the man who lost to John McCain...but Barack is only the adoption of anti-abortion and a few more Christian conscience issues away from being not just historic but legendary or even iconic.

I feel as though the country has been holding its collective breath until after the results. Then the flood of emotion overwhelmed many. It's the realization of seeing a people who were enslaved for 400 years send a Kenyan-American to the highest office in the world. It's pretty freakin' cool.

Once he's in office the honeymoon eventually will end as it always does and the principal givers of the hundreds of billions of dollars will come to get their payback. I pray for his own sanity that he can pull off half of what he says he can do. Otherwise Mr. Obama's ideal of a multi-term administration may end up like his experience...short.

This does not change the fact that as the President he deserves my prayers as he leads the greatest nation in the world in this next season of change.
